I know most brides talk about their theme, however some wedding experts say it matters more of the wedding style. Who is going with a theme or style (or both) and why did you pick that theme/style? I’ve decided on my theme to be a calla lily theme. I just think the flower symbolizes beauty and romance and uniqueness and that reflects me. My wedding colors are going to be royal blue and lemon yellow. I guess I would say my style is semi-formal?? Haven’t quite got that down packed yet. But anyone wanting to share?

I dont quite understand when someone asks what the style of my wedding is..are they asking is it traditional or non traditional? Modern, chic, glamorous? Idk. My theme is A Night at the Theater and my colors are teal, purple, and grey..we’re having callas as well and lots of candles..

We’re going for an elegant, vintage feel. The hotel we’re hoping to book our ceremony/reception at is filled with antiques (the Tiffany ballroom is named as such because the chandeliers are made of Tiffany glass) and really gorgeous. Our colors are royal purple, old gold and chocolate with champagne accents and possibly a lighter purple to balance things out, and I’m hoping to utilize old wooden and gold pieces (or DIY some things to make them look older) and have some sort of tree branch-style centerpiece with candles. I’m hoping to find a lace dress and want Fiance and his groomsmen to dress sort of Gatsby-ish. Not sure on bridal party yet, but I love the look of mismatched dresses.

Our main theme is Fall, our main colors are Apple Red, Burnt Orange, and Ivory for contrast. We are doing tons of DIY and we are 50/50 when it comes to traditional and non-traditional.

@Soon2BeMrsPea: LOL I don’t understand that either. I just say I’m going for a semi-formal event but I do want to reception to “feel” warm and inviting (that’s where the lemon yellow is coming in). Our ceremony is going to mostly reflect a little more formal affair.
