Just wondering if anyone was having any special entertainment / little extras such as photo booth or lolly buffet… both those things are HUGE in Australia and just because they’re huge, I refuse to have either one at our wedding! I just don’t like doing what everyone else does.
But I do worry that our guests might think our wedding is boring because we don’t have those things? It will just be your ‘typical’ wedding – ceremony, then canapes and drinks during photos, then dinner, speeches, dancing, cake cutting, more dancing and that’s it. Is that too boring do you think? Will you have ‘wedding games’ ?

We had a DIY photo booth and then we had First Nations dancers, singers and drummers to tie in my culture

We are having a Destination Wedding in Hawaii and we are doing a tropical snowcone bar during the cocktail hour. We are also having a hula dancer and a fire dancer after dinner.

@amyinbrisbane: I was just having dancing etc etc…And really it was following tradition, until a friends daughter offered to do a photobooth. She has got together a bunch of costumes and various accesories, a black back drop and will take photos of the guests, one for them and one for an album. I also caved on the lollies. I have been collecting various vintage/rustic type jars and a relative offered to fill them. My man has various things for the table, like conversation starters and fortune tellers…..so yeah I caved LOL….

I’m thinking of a DIY photobooth guestbook – but as another australian bride, I completely understand – I’m so sick of seeing the same photobooth and lolly buffets everywhere, and they’re such a rip off!

Yeah they are costly and the trends come and go…Not a necessity at all! My guests would be happy with food and alcohol…lol

My SO is a gamer and a lot of my friends don’t like to dance, so I’m planning to have a couple gaming tables with things like Jenga, Cards Against Humanity and other board games that don’t require a lot of talking.

We are doing lawn games, a faux booth, and diy crepe bar, a sliders food truck to come out around 10pm and a bonfire. I love photobooths so i couldnt go without one, though the fake one is ALOT cheaper then renting one

My fiance and I are going to be packing some picnic rugs and food baskets for guests and we have a musician on hand to entertain them as well. We’re also going to have some farm games (it’s on a farm, duh) to tide over the hour or so between the ceremony and reception. Hopefully it’ll be fun!

My family is big on singing so after I sweat out my curls on the dance floor… I will hit the open bar and will let them enjoy karaoke on a BIG screen. When karaoke isn’t playing we will have pictures and our story love quiz. Tv will be off during the most important parts. 🙂

I am having acoustic singers during my cocktail hour followed by a 10 minute performance by fire dancers.
I am having a modified photobooth. A fun wall where by my guests can stand there and take photos with props but they will be professional photos by my photographer.
I am also having a kids corner with kids activities.
And a live band.
I really am over the candy buffet/bar. I am having a buffet dessert bar with nice desserts (individual creme brulee, chocolate brownies, berry cheesecakes) and an icecream bar.
