What the eff – I repeat, WHAT THE EFF – is going on with this rain right now? I’m on my BFF’s couch, furiously weddingbeeing right now, but we have to drive across town for dinner in a couple of hours. Jeez Louise.
I have never seen an actual, currently functioning drain in Los Angeles. I think they are all purely cosmetic.

This is cracking me up.. My bf says that I put a curse on LA when I moved here (in August) because it has rained more in the past six months than he has ever seen before. We were out a little while ago and I discovered that both of my rubber boots have leaks! This is just southern California laughing in my face.

Lol! Not in LA but I have family there. I guess March is trying to beat April to the punch. It’s storming/raining here in IL too.

I heard the Marathon this afternoon turned into quite the ordeal…
I went to college in the greater LA area, and I remember one storm in spring of 2005 when our whole campus flooded. Everyone went to class barefoot with their pants rolled up, and people had to sandbag their first floor apartments. It was days before it went down.

Oh yes, winter 2005 was supposedly the rainiest in recorded history. I remember it well:) this one wasn’t so bad but it does suck. Stay out of the Valley and don’t drive in the far left lane of the freeways. Oh, and avoid the canyons-I’ve seen cars, trash cans, trees, boulders, everything go washing past. Lol

@ddw: i was at csun that year. i remember everyone wearing shorts and flip flops to not get as soaked and to dry off faster.

I was in OC today and then drove back down to San Diego. It’s not quite as heavy here, but the wind it ridiculous!
I remember 2005 too! I had a class at SDSU and had to walk across the entire campus to get there. I was completely soaked through and very late and I walk in and everyone is dry…they had all gotten there before the craziness started. Worst class ever.

@SnowPeony:I’m in IL too and it has been pouring all day. It even managed to hail earlier. I was lucky enough to be working drive through when all of this was going on. It was pretty funny!

Yup. we just got back from watching a play. Its gnarley out there! I am so not looking forward to driving to work tomorrow with probably a dozen accidents on the freeway.

@SweetRose2011: Lol that had to be fun! I was lucky enough to stay in all day 🙂

WTF indeed! I’ve never seen it this bad before. I drove to brunch with a friend and I thought my car was going to float away in the huge puddles in the middle of the road. Since then, we haven’t left the house. So dreading driving to work tomorrow.

haha yea this is crazy. I live through a canyon, and my roommate just called me and said that both entrances to our apartment are shut down… good thing Fiance only lives 30 min away!

I remember 2005 as well… 🙂 My hubby is surprised by all the rain and thinks it must be the worst ever for CA. I keep telling him it’s not, but I don’t know that he believes me. He’s loving it though! Reminds him of home. 😀

Seriously! It was just 80 degrees three days ago!
