@MissTX:  yes! I’m so scared. I have never once seen my dad cry, and since I’m the baby of 5 children and the last child to get married, I’m scared something will just click in him. We’ll see. Eek. I do not want to see him cry. That’ll be too much and I’ll be a mess!

most definitely.  I’m the baby of the family and I have always been really close with my dad so I know I’m going to absolutely bawl, he’s sensitive too so I’m sure there will be lots of tears.

@MissTX: Oh, both my dad and I cried like babies. We did a first look and it was the best thing I could have ever done!

I’m worried about both those moments too. But I’ve actually surprised myself at how well I keep my cool. I didn’t really cry and at any of my friends weddings I was a Bridesmaid or Best Man for and I didn’t cry when he proposed, which he was confused about and a little offended haha. I just got choked up. But I’m guessing at our wedding all bets are off and I’ll be blubbering and hopefully wearing waterproof everything.

My dad refused to look at me when I brought my wedding dress home to try on for my mom. He told me the reason was “I want to cry at the right time”. That, and he won’t tell me what song he picked for our Father-Daughter Dance; we’re both going to be crying, for sure.

I gotta say though, it is SO worth it! I will never forget the moment my dad saw me for the first time. The ONLY thing that beat that was seeing my husband for the first time. (The funny thing is I smiled for my dad. I just kept breathing and making my “ooo” face to keep from balling when I saw Mr. Hedgie… darn it! No smiling pictures for him! lol)

And just to share a few (too many) pictures of the emotional moment so you guys know it is going to be VERY emotional but so wonderful!

Ah the wedding day was sooo emotional for me and my Dad! I’m a total Daddy’s girl lol, so it was hard for both of us.  We both kept tearing up before the wedding. Haha and he seriously looked like he was going to faint on the way over to the church and when he started walking me down the aisle.  We just kept joking around during the father-daughter dance too so we wouldn’t tear up.  Those moments are some of my favorite memories.

I totally thought I was going to… and then on the day of, I just didn’t! It was like I had thought about the whole day and my dad and the ceremony and walking down the aisle SO MUCH that by the time I actually did it, I was just used to the thought of it and it didn’t end up making me cry! I cry now though sometimes if I look at the photos from my dad seeing me in my dress, or walking me down the aisle. So sweet!

I teared up a few times around my dad but for the most part I kept it together. There were moments I thought I was gonna lose it though!

Now my brother on the other hand…I burst into tears the second I saw him. He had recently returned from deployment (he’s a Marine) and was in his dress blues, complete with ribbons and medals. This was right before the ceremony so I had to make sure my makeup didn’t smudge, but it was a wonderful moment I’m thankful that took place.
