I was. And then we got married and I just changed my name on Facebook today. And it feels weird. I’m still excited but it’ll take some getting used to.

So excited! Not only because I don’t really like my last name, but because it just seems like that’s when we’ll be a complete “Mr & Mrs”. I can’t wait.

I don’t really like my last name, but there aren’t many of us. 🙁

So no, I’m not super excited to take his last name. I guess it’s the lesser of two evils. I don’t really like his last name either.

I think it’s excited to be married and have the same last name, but I dread being called the same name as my Future Mother-In-Law LOL

I was definitely happy to change my name.  My maiden name and married name are both ethnic (same ethnicity) but my husband’s last name is a little more commonly heard and easier to pronounce.  The only bad thing is that my father is well known in our area and my maiden name got me out of more than a few speeding tickets, haha 😉

On one half I am excited to. On the other, not so much. I have two children from a previous marriage so I really wanted to keep my married name. That was my plan until I fell in love with an amazing person. Then I started to rethink the idea. So I decided on hyphenating but the two names together were silly. So I just decided I would change my name again.

I’m excited for us to share the same last name and to be married… Plus it helps that I HATE my last name and love his 🙂 Can’t wait to be rid of mine and take his!!

    I was! I couldn’t wait!

I’ve always, always hated my maiden name, and loved how my husband’s name sounded with my first name. It didn’t take me more than a week after our honeymoon to do it. Mostly because I was excited, and also because I knew I’d never do it if I waited.

I’m excited to take his.  My last name is fairly common and it’s English in decent but I must say it strange or something – I’ve spent my entire life spelling it!  His last name is uncommon and is German – which is neat for me too, because we are both of similar decent (German, English, Scottish)

My new last name has the same syllables, same amount of letters and when said quickly sounds very similar.  It’s also with a K, so I will have alliteration in my name now and love the way the c/k sound works when said together. 🙂

I can’t wait! It sounds so much better than my current name too. I just had to pick up a bridesmaid’s shoes and they asked for “bride’s name” and I cringed. I want it changed!

I hyphenated, but only because my first-his last sounds funny (it rhymes, with only two syllables in each).

However, now my name is long. People still call me by my last, and my last isn’t easy I always have to spell it out and it annoys me.

So I might just stop using my last and use only his even if it rhymes… I’m asking for advice, would you do it, if it meant your name would be Judie Gooly (fictive name, but id would sound similar)

I am, but I’m not. I love my last name and think it goes really well with my first name, but I love that my name will be McSomething too.
