@MrsPinkPeony:  you’re getting married on my FI’s birthday!  Not that you care, I just felt like pointing that out.  ๐Ÿ˜€

I can’t WAIT to change my last name.  People have made fun of it for years and can never pronounce it right (it’s really not that hard.  FI and I are both flabbergasted at the inability of some people to pronounce it right.)

I’ve been doodling my first name with his last since we started dating so it’ll be nice to have it be legit!

I am! My fiance’s last name is pronounced “shank,” as in prison shank, so I think it’s hardcore, lmao. I’ll keep my maiden name for professional purposes, though.

My first-maiden are very cutesy because there’s a bunch of e’s in them. I can’t stand it. When I introduce myself I have to clarify that I’m giving my first and last name and that it’s not all one first name. I can’t wait for his last name. It’s so much cooler.

Honestly, I didn’t even think I was going to take my husband’s last name, but it just sounds so much better. ๐Ÿ™‚

I cannot wait.  Cannot.  His last name is Nice… literally.  That’s it.  I can’t wait.  We’re both going to be teachers, so that’ll be interesting.  Hopefully we’ll eventually be in the same district so we can get a reputation of being the Nice teachers. ๐Ÿ™‚

I thought about this in the last week and I’m stoked!  I’m glad to be moving up in the alphabet and not having to use my current two last names.

I sure am! My FI’s last name starts with a “B” mine is a “S” (and sounds like a stripper’s last name might I add.). I’m not only excited to be rid of my last name but whenever I graduate with my degree, I won’t have to wait so long for my name to be called. What a keeper!

Meeeee!!!! My last name gets mispronounced/misheard/misspelled all the time! FI’s name is longer than mine, but at least the “sound it out” principle applies to the pronounciation and spelling of his!

My first and last don’t rhyme, but they do have two syllables each, and it seems so short and sing-songy together – thus I was using my middle intial professionally to break things up. With FI’s name, I can just be First Last like most people, because his last name has four syllables.

PLUS, I’m not totally thrilled with Dad’s side of the family, and have no qualms about “ending” our surname.

I was.  My old last name was never pronounced or spelled correctly.  Most people can pronounce my new last name, but they still spell it wrong because they always want to spell it with a “y” at the end and it just ends in an “e”.

I was sooo excited to finally share his last name! Of course it was bittersweet losing mine forever, but I was glad to share one with him ๐Ÿ™‚ I always used to call him by his last name though as does all of his friends, so now that I have the same one as him I’ve been trying to break myself of using that as his nickname. Hard to break after 8 years of it though lol

When we were in college, our professor joked about how much of a mouthful my name would be if I married my Boyfriend or Best Friend (we had many of the same classes). I’ve been looking forward to it since even before then.
