Okay, HUUUUGE Beatles fan coming through, as you can see from my username. lol

What about “In My Life?”

I love Blackbird as a coming of age, coming into your own song – I actually have blackbird tattoos for this song – but I do think it’s a little melancholy.

It’s a good song. We did Landslide by Fleetwood Mac cause I’m not sappy.

rao4400 :  my husband suggested it to his mom for their dance, but she wanted something else. If you like it then go for it – it’s a beautiful song. If the words really bother you try an instrumental version.

I love rainbow connection,  but I also love the Muppet’s.  I maybe have the original and a remix on my phone right now lol.

I’m leaning toward doing Louis Armstrong’s what’s wonderful world at the moment.  None of the typical songs resonate with me either even though I am really close with my dad.

rao4400 :  Then I’d say go for it!! It is a beautiful choice and you’re totally right. Weddings are like a coming of age moment. It’s going to be a magical moment either way. <3

If you love it then go for it. My Dad picked “Changes” by Black Sabbath. The lyrics don’t fit for the occassion but he said Sabbath was our road trip soundtrack.

I don’t think it’s too melancholy! I think it seems kind of fitting for your relationship with your dad? I love that song.

I’m not sure what we are doing yet, but I thought about “Wildflowers” by Tom Petty. Seems like it might be up your alley?

rao4400 :  if it speaks to you that much then definitely just go for it! There are no hard and fast rules about what the song needs to be except that it should be meaningful to you and your dad.

It is my favorite of all of the music ever done by the Beatles, and if you were able to do something like an old fashioned quick step or quick fox trot, I think it would be great.

My younger son and I used “Happy” because I loved his bride and thought they were perfect together, but Blackbird was my second choice.
