Have you noticed that more brides now paint their nails with sheer neutral or milky pale pink colors (ex OPI bubblebath, Essie Allure, etc). Before, it was mostly french manicures. Is french manicure going out of style then? What will you be doing with your nails on the big day?

I don’t know if it’s out of style completely, but I rarely see French manicures out and about. Solid colors are definitely more popular at least where I live.

French is classic. It’s never going to be out of style. I had French, and it looked fantastic. It goes with every dress.

Not at all. I still see tons of ladies on Pinterest with french mannies and engagement rings. But I do agree that neutral is totally in. It’s likely due to Princess Kate doing that as to not overwhelm her sapphire engagement ring with colored nails.

I do think it’s pretty out of style. It just looks a little too overdone to me

Yes!!! Completely…… I can’t remember the last time one of my friends had a French manicure, for a wedding or otherwise. Could be regional?? I live near Seattle if that matters.

Yes, they’re very out of style. That’s the reason I love them. On short nails though! Not a fan of long nails ever. With that said, I don’t think they’re suited to the traditional bride in a white/ivory dress. Plain makes sense.
I’ll probably paint mine black or red. I plan on wearing a dark evening gown though and carrying a bunch of roses picked up at a flower stand, so bold nails will suit me well.

I got a french manicure for our wedding. I do not think it will ever become old

It’s not out of style, it’s classic. HOWEVER I feel it’s so overdone that I rarely ever get it anymore. I am going to do a sheer/pale pink/beige/something along those lines.

I had a french manicure done for my wedding in May. I wanted a classic look and while you can’t really notice my nails in the pics, I just didn’t want to do anything too trendy. I have more of a classic style though so it works for me.

I wore CND’s Grapfruit Sparkle Shellac, a sheer sparkly polish since I wear French Manicures on a regular basis and felt it looked too ordinary.

When you say french manicures are “overdone”, did you mean?
A. The white tip is too stark against the pink polish on the nailbed so it gives an artificial look
B. Too many people have done it

French manicures look very 90’s to me, I think they’re pretty outdated. I wouldn’t even call them overdone at this point because I haven’t seen people wear them for years.

French manicure is traditional, & I don’t think it can ever go out of style. Just like waffles for breakfast, it’s a classic!
