It seems like it’s coming back. If I decide to do it, I’ll just do it myself…I’m artsy like that 🙂

I really hope not…..but only because I cannot afford to spend another penny!

I never knew it was “out”. LOL Calligraphy was a given for me. I really never considered anything else.

I DIYed mine, and I loved it! We got so many compliments.

I DIYed it by tracing with a light board for my Save-The-Date Cards. I have already gotten so many compliments, it’s definitely worth the time and effort. I wouldn’t pay for it though

I agree with lovekiss, calligraphy was never out. Everyone in my social circle uses a calligrapher for their wedding.

Was it ever out of style?  I’ve heard labels called tacky and against etiquette so if we’re limited to handwriting would you want it to look nice with calligraphy?

I would have but spending any amount of money on envelopes that were going to be thrown away doesn’t fly with me.

How much does a calligrapher cost by the way?  I didn’t even look into it….

@mchitt329:  Our calligraphy came out to about $3 per envelope.

I LOVE calligraphy. Couldn’t afford it for the invites (we mailed out 95 invites and 95 save-the-dates) but I love calligraphy in general. As a substitute, I used the Carolyna Black Pro font for the envelopes, it kiiiind of looks like fancy calligraphy.

@lovekiss:  YIKES! Nope I wouldn’t do that unless my budget was Kardashian-esque.  I know it looks nice but SWEET JESUS THEY’RE GOING TO BE THROWN AWAY!

I wish I would have asked a friend with amazing handwriting to do the envelopes, but I was anxious to get those suckers mailed out!

Our calligraphy is $.50 per outside envelope, $.40 for return address and $.40 for RSVP envelopes. So it is $1.30 per invitation.

    Wait, it went out?

It never occured to me to do it.  I had wrap around labels that I found much more festive.
