We are not going with chicken, but steak instead.  We’re just getting sick of all the chicken at weddings… sometimes its nice to be a little different.  You wont be able to please everyone, but get what will make you & the majority of guests happy.

Is there an additional charge for offering an option of chicken to guests? If you could only pick one, choose the one you love (the steak sounds so good, that’s what I voted for). But if you’re able to offer chicken, that may be a good option for those who don’t like red meat or who have picky eaters (if kids are invited).

You do not have to do chicken.  We are letting our guests choose between a fish and beef entree (with a silent vegetarian option).  In your case, I voted for the beef, but the sea bass was a close second!  Honestly, the salmon, sea bass, and filet mignon are all more appealing to me than the chicken and sound delicious!

@jaglynn17: I think it’s because chicken is quite plain and could be seen as a safe option. I’d go for the beef and we’re choosing beef for ours.

I know people who don’t like fish or eat red meat, so chicken was a must for us. I think it just depends on your guests.

I don;t like red meat so if there isn’t a fish option I choose chicken. I think chicken just appeals to most people.

I always pick fish at a wedding. I always know it’s going to be yummy! But I would probably do chicken as well… just in case. A lot of people (like my fiance) have allergy’s to seafood.

I’m not big on the name “Chicken Fungi.” I love mushrooms but I just don’t like that name.

I would personally go with the filet mignon, it sounds delicious.

I don’t think you have to have chicken.  We are doing a pork dish, a beef dish, and a veggie dish.  As long as you have a non-meat or even non-red meat option you should be fine.  I picked the salmon cause it sounds sooo good right now.

All of the above except Chicken Fungi.  I’m not a fan of what your chicken dish is called. It brings up things I don’t want to think of when I think of fungi.  Sorry. 🙁  Sounds delicious though, because I love mushrooms. If I had to chose one, I might choose the filet mignon.  Although, the sea bass sounds yummy.  I might get the sea bass if my husband got the filet, so we could share. 🙂

Chicken is a must for me and my guests. While I don’t always choose a chicken entrée at weddings, I do feel that it should be offered for those who don’t eat red meat or fish. Believe me, there are A LOT of them out there.

I think there are a lot of people who don’t eat fish (like me) or red meat, but not as many people out there who don’t eat chicken. I think it’s your safest bet.

You don’t HAVE to – but it is a pretty safe bet. I personally love steak – but some people can’t/don’t eat red meat. And many people aren’t a fan of fish. So if you pick chicken you’ll be safe. If I were you though I wouldn’t write out the whole description on your response cards, Chicken Fungi doesn’t sound the most appetizing. Maybe write Chicken with Mushrooms. But Chicken Fungi sounds like chicken with a side of fungus. lol.
