Hahaha, I go to a party school, people say our initials stand for “Sex, Fun, Alcohol”.

And my friends and I tend to do crazy things, drove 3.5 hrs to the beach on night to see sunset, 4 hrs to go to this one resturant and got back to campus at 6 AM, camping trip weekend, hours of ultimate frisbee at night, sardines all over campus at 2 AM, but also, all sans alcohol and/or illegal drugs. We know how to have a good time totally sober.

That being said, if one wanted, head out to sorority row and there is always a party going on or to either of the local bars/clubs. I think it is totally who you hang out with and if you chose to go to parties.

Edit: It also depends on your program, the nursing students party pretty hard Saturday night and after midterms/finals but during the week everyone is up to their necks in readings and case studies.

Not for me.  I don’t party and never will, it doesn’t interest me.  You make college what you want.

@ladyluckystars:

i attend an art college and it is dedinitely not a party school (people have too much work to do for the most part). while there are some partiers and some druggies, my friends and i steer clear of it. we have spent many anight watching disney movies (and singing along) and baking cookies. and one day i swear i returned to my apartment to find that my roommate had turned our living room into one big couch fort! so basically we’re like kids, but with more 3am excursions for pancakes or buffalo wings.

I absolutely loved my college experience. They were definitely some of the best years of my life. I made some great friends. I essentially lived with my best friends and was able to hang out with an extended circle of great people on a daily basis. Whether we were studying, cooking, having drinks, watching movies, clubbing or playing board games, everything was just so much fun because the company was so fun. I didn’t just party; I studied a lot and had a high GPA. However, whenever I wanted a fun distraction, I didn’t have to look far!

Also, though for me none of the boys I dated worked out (what was I thinking about some of them?!), it was still fantastic to meet lots of different guys so I could realize what I liked in them, what my dealbreakers were and learned how to have healthy relationships.

Man, I’m feeling pretty nostalgic now… =)

@laceywings: Sounds like we would be friends. Somewhere I have pictures of an epic fort we made at my apartment one night.

I had a great college experience that included partying, as well as childish activities like a hallway slip n slide. I miss those days!

@laceywings: I figure just about the time I should be “out growing” them, I will have kids, or at least nieces/nephews. Then I have another reason to make them!!

Its not like movies where everyone is gorgeous and looks like a model, most college students never change out of their pajamas and rarely shower regularly, and have beer guts. But if you wanted to find a party on any given night, you could. They were usually in dirty apartments though, not to say we didnt have a blast and a ton of funny memories like shorting out the lights in the dorm making a giant hot air derigible out of trash bags and floating it over the campus. people do weird things in college.

Also, the people who go to college to learn and get good grades are not the same ones posting on textsfromlastnight and partying all the time. Those kids wash out after freshman year usually. You have to find a reasonable balance.

The only party craziness at my school happened around the frats/sororities, and I kept my distance from all of that. My circle of friends had our share of drinking nights and shenanigans on campus, but nothing like what you’d see in the movies.

I don’t think it’s college… more of “college age” I didn’t go to college and sadly some of my texts have ended up on TFLN… sometimes I don’t like my friends. LOL. I can tell you I have had some insane party moments…

@ladyluckystars: I went to a top tier university, that is especially heavy in computer science and engineering deciplines. Everyone there has very specific interests, and overall, it’s pretty intense and nerdy. And yes, college was still very very wild – it was just a smaller percentage of the population that was social.
