Ive been browsing the ring boards and have never seen so many beautiful, huge rings! I only know 2 people in real life who have center stones over a carat(and prob over 2cts total) but they wouldnt have accepted anything less. Is it a regional thing? Or girls with big rings are more likely to show theirs off? I dont mean any of this to be rude, you just dont see many 1.5+ center stones around here. A woman at the jewelry store told me most girls wearing over 1.5cts around here are rocking cz’s. I love alllll jewelry so I wouldn’t even know the difference! I love all the shinies!,

@MissHarleyBlue: I am pretty much the antithesis of rich. I’m a teacher. lol. My Fiance (currently in college) bought my ring when he was interning as a chemical engineer one summer. It is .82 c center stone. I think he may have said 1.25 tcw. Anyway, here’s a picture.

I wear a 9.5MM moissanite 🙂 I have a huge love affair with Moissanite. I have no idea what everyone else is wearing but I love everything shiny too 🙂

@MissHarleyBlue: Lol I’ve wondered the same thing. One of my friends got a ring with a center stone that was almost a carat and that was a big deal in our circle. I love drooling over the rings on here!
@mrsjordan53014: your ring is gorgeous! I really love the side stones!

I guess I would call my ring on the bigger side, but it helps that it’s a moissanite. It wasn’t cheap, but it didn’t break the bank either!

@MissHarleyBlue: Don’t forget a lot of ladies are rocking Moissanites, which can be 1ct for $500 or thereabouts! So a huge ring doesn’t always mean a huge spend.

My center stone is an heirloom. A couple ladies I know have heirloom stones as well. That’s something to consider too.

@MissHarleyBlue: I figure if that’s what women like than all the more power to them for getting what they like. As a matter of preference I don’t like big rings (my mother’s was around 5ct so I’ve tried on big), heck I’m not even that much of a diamond girl. Guess the great thing about the Bee is that everyone can express what they want!
By The Way this is my pride and joy!

I loved finding out on the bee that a lot of big and beautiful rings are not always diamonds, and still look amazing. I went with morganite and don’t have a huge ring, but I love my setting and feel that I got a ring I love at a price that was super reasonable.

Weddingbee is pretty traditional, so you’ll see lots of classic white gold sets. I know lots of real life couples who didnt go that route, let alone go above 1 ct. I’ve seen women just get wedding bands, or rings without center stones, or only engagement rings but no bands, or opals, or heirloom pieces -in short, relatively inexpensive alternatives.

I think it has a lot to do with your location really. We live in a higher income area where a 1-1.5 carat center stone is pretty common. My center stone is over 2 carats (diamond) plus the halo and side stones and while it is pretty large I have seen larger on ocassion at events in the wealthier areas.
No we are not rich. I would consider someone rich if they didn’t have to work for a living. We on the other hand are established in our careers and hard workers have thankfully been successful. With this we were able to afford a larger ring. We also waited until we were closer to 30 to get married which may make the difference as early 20’s we were broke.

@HomeschoolingBeeof4: I have a 2.5 carat solitaire and we aren’t rich. We are both teachers, but my Fiance saved for a long time for my ring, plus used some gift money PLUS we got a smoking deal.

I’ve been thinking the same thing! I use to love my ring when I first got it but after looking at all the ring porn on here I really want to upgrade my centre stone.

I’m nowhere near rich, and neither is my Fiance. My ring is a 1.05ct blue sapphire with diamond sidestones. I’d post a photo but I’m too lazy. He got a huge deal on it, too, because he went to a jeweler that knows his family.

I know 2 women in my circle who have 2ct diamonds, but everyone else rocks .25-1.25ct center stone. I have a 1ct.
