Do it!!! We did and it was totally worth it. You only have one wedding night ever. Although now we may stay at the same hotel for our anniversary sometime.

iheartpeonies:  I’m having the same dillema. We booked a suite for the night before the wedding and the night of the wedding–grand total: $800. Believe me when I say, that was like a knife to my heart. I never in my life thought I would spend that much money on something like that. However, the hotel is literally a stone’s throw from the venue, my ENTIRE family is staying there the night before and the night of the wedding, and we needed a big space to get ready in the morning of the wedding (venue won’t let us even on the grounds until 1pm). For us, it’s worth it just for the convenience of it all. I know that we will more than likely just pass out, but it beats trying to drive home.

For you, though, it seems like you just want a hotel to get away for a night. Did you reserve a block of rooms somewhere for your friends and family? Can you stay there? Even if you are just going to pass out, I would splurge on a room away from everyone else and have some quiet and alone time with your now-husband. You will not get too much quality time during the wedding and this may be the first time you guys get to spend together alone all day.

iheartpeonies:  I’d say its worth it but I think you can also find a hotel thats not as expensive but still nice. What area are you in? We have a room block for guests. If we book 30 nights our room is free. At first I wanted to go out and get a really fancy hotel but after thinking about I prefer Free! haha.

YES! while you dont spend tooooo much time in there because you get in super late from the reception, it’s SOOOOOOOO nice to have some luxurious amenities the morning after. Waking up in a beautiful bed with expensive linens, fancy shampoo & breakfast in bed is TOTALLY worth it after the craziest night of your life! Definitely splurge if it’s in the budget 🙂 You’ll get a fantastic sleep and will feel somewhat rested the next monring 😉 Enjoy!

My husband and I stayed in this cute little B&B for our wedding night, and I’d say it was worth it. I don’t know how much it cost, as my parents paid for it, but I don’t think it was over $100. It was nice to go somewhere special after the fun but exhausting wedding day, knowing we could just relax. I originally wanted to just go to sleep but we ended up opening the wedding presents on the bed 😛

Then there was also the fact that the groom and the groomsmen got ready and dressed in our flat, so it was pretty untidy and it wouldn’t have been fun to get home and find a huge mess right after the wedding.
