I don’t need any shapewear under my dress and I am having cups sewn in. I just don’t know what to wear for underwear! Is a thong a bad idea? Or maybe seamless panties? Any thoughts would be helpful.

I would think a thong would be a fairly safe choice. Even seamless undies can leave weird lines if they don’t fit perfectly.
As long as you have a comfy thong (I know some can be a pain in the ass – pun intended), I would think it would be fine!

i’m earing a thong shapewear since i dont want to be hot under my dress and i find a thong the most comfortable. If you wont have any panty lines just wear whatever you want.

Keep in mind you’ll probably need help into your dress, so wear something you won’t be too shy in, lol.

I wear thongs daily so that’s probably what I’ll wear under my dress too. Not weird!

@Westwood: Thank you! haha Luckily, I am not modest so that should be fine, I might mortify my bridesmaids but they are used to me. 🙂
@Swizzle: I was worried about being hot as well. I think I’ll search for a comfortable one and go from there.
@canarydiamond: I will search for a comfortable one. I am usually comfortable in them, but you are definitely right that some are no bueno!

I think a thong is the best bet – also makes it way easier for going to the bathroom in your dress!

@rachy2405: whatever you want that is comfortable and won’t show threw your dress.
i may wear the hanky panky bride thong that says “I Do” i wear thongs almost every day.

@rachy2405: I also didn’t need any shapewear under my dress as I had cups sewed in & our ceremony was in Mexico so the last thing I wanted was layers in that heat. I worse seamless cotton undies from VS since the bottom portion of my dress was poofy, no-one would have noticed lines if I had them. It HAD to be cotton too b/c that heat was ridiculous! I had a thong for backup but ended up going with full coverage mainly b/c some thongs are too long in the back part & just end up hanging loosly off my hips…

Lol, you are lucky you can get away without form fitting foundation garments or shapewear !!
When it comes to undies, I would say COMFORT is key (you can change into your sexy lingerie when you get back to your Honeymoon Hotel Suite… most gals want to have a nice long shower any how to wash that 3 inches of hairspray out of your hair if nothing else !!)
Like some other Brides, I was worried about getting “hot”… so I opted for very basic cotton panties… both times I’ve been married, my dress has had lots of layers / flowy (not clingy) so visible panty lines were never a problem.
Hope this helps,

Girl, if you have self-supporting boobs and don’t need anything to be shoved & held in place via shapewear, I say go for it!!! 😀

@rachy2405: Exact same sit. Cups sewn in, no shapewear needed but totally perplexed on if I’m ‘supposed’ to wear anything besides underware.

@MrsWBS: I had the same thought!
@This Time Round: I was thinking the same thing. I’m comfortable in thongs, but I never wear them with dresses, as my dresses are always short, and well, I try to be classy. I think I will bring some seamless unwear along to my fitting and see if the lines are visible, and then maybe make a game day decision.
@ChicFoodist: My boobs are minimal, so support is no issue, at all! Infact I’m having some extra inserts sewn into the cups for help.
@springbride23: If that is your dress in your picture then our dresses look very similar! I feel like because I don’t have shapewear, or a bra for that matter that I’m forgetting something! haha

@rachy2405: Ahh yes! That’s my love (other than Fiance, of course!) I’m happy we only need underwear! Less to remember or forget… depends if you’re the glass half-full or half-empty type.

@ajillity81: +1 I wore the same thong… it was super comfy.
I say do it if you can… I did
