It bugs me too. My desk is very clearly organized and I don’t appreciate people messing up my files and moving things around. If they’d just ASK me about what they’re looking for, I can find it for them in two seconds flat. Instead they rummage around and I have to ask them what they’re looking for, and then they keep rummaging and waffling until finally they tell me what they want, *SNAP* I find it, and they say, “Oh, thanks!” and then go, “Oh, I’ll put all this back later.” As in “I messed up your neat desk, but don’t worry, I’ll come straighten it again after I’ve disappeared for three hours. Just work around the chaos until then.”

Jerks, lol.

You’re not crazy! I’ve actually had someone come up to my desk and start rummaging through my drawers.. can ya imagine?! It has more to do with people invading your personal space than craziness dear, and you have every right to be agitated!

Um I would have slapped their hand away (and pretended I was kidding). I get pissed even when people stand in my cube to talk to the person that sits behind me. MY DESK IS NOT A  PUBLIC SPACE.

nah, it just happens to be a really strong pet peeve for you. you’re not alone!

my weird pet peeve: if I can even slightly hear my neighbors walking around, or their music, I get so angry sometimes I feel like I’m going to completely freak, even if they are not really being all that loud. it’s just something I have to deal with. I try to take a deep breath and occupy myself so I can forget about it.

Yeah, that would bother me.  Seriously, why does anyone else need to randomly go through your papers? With you sitting right there? I don’t get it.

@MeganTacky2247: people always comment on how clean my desk is and they always want to mess it up. i cant focus if there are multiple piles of things to do on my desk. i can only work on what is in front of me!

I’m the same way. Everything on my desk has to be straightened and I can’t stand clutter. I hate when people stand with their arms over my cubicle and mess up the papers I have tacked up there. I just have to straighted them back right away.

At home if I see something sitting out that shouldn’t be, I’ll think about it and focus on it until I finally just have to get up and put it away.

I’m going to be in so much trouble when I have kids and their toys are everywhere!
