I wouldn’t worry about them matching, I think save the dates especially with pictures are meant to be a little less formal so they wouldn’t match anyways. 6 months from now no one will know the difference.

We got our magnetic save the dates from wedding paper divas – I saw them and it was love at first sight, so we just went with them despite the fact that the design isn’t available as a proper invitation. Retrospect, I actually like the fact that they are different as that have sparked my own creativity (I’m doing the invitations myself).

I really don’t think anyone will really care – so don’t worry and go ahead and order them!

They don’t need to match, I really don’t think I’ve ever compared someone’s STD and invite anyway.

No one will care – I don’t think many people pay that much attention to invitations and Save-The-Date Cards.

If someone does notice the colour differences (shock horror!), I highly doubt they’re going to do or say anything about it. They’ll probably just assume your colour scheme changed in the 6-12 months between designing Save-The-Date Cards and invitations.

Mine are fairly different.  It doesn’t matter.  STD’s are meant to be more informal.  Mine was just a business card size piece of sage cardstock, with a gold embossed flourish and the pertinent info.  Then I decided I didn’t want sage/gold as my wedding colours, chartreuese and grey was better, so invites reflected that.

I wouldn’t care or notice. Save-The-Date Cards come out so much earlier than invitations anyway. Usually the couple uses a photo for the STD and not for the invitations so very few that I’ve received has matched.

It doesn’t matter if they match or not. Go with the cheaper option. (:
