We are going to have a wine box ceremony. The officiant will explain that we have written letters to each other and that on our anniversaries we will add letters etc. Then he will hand us the letters and a song will start playing (a recording, not live, of “When I Say I Do”, by Matthew West).
I LOVE this song and it is so perfect, except it will probably take us about 15 seconds to put the letters in the box and lock it. I would like for most of the song to play, will it be awkward for us to just stand there?
I considered having a slideshow of pictures of us playing during the song. Any other suggestions?

I like the slideshow idea. I went to a wedding where they played a song that took longer than the sand ceremony and it was a bit awkward. You could always cut the song after the first chorus (have someone slowly fade the music by turning down the volume.)

I agree with @beachbride1216. Trim down the song and draw out the ceremony by slowly, pulling out the envelopes, sealing them, put in the wine, put in the envelopes, sealing the … practice moving in slow motion 🙂

Good advice. I hadn’t thought about putting the wine in at that time, that will draw it out some! And I will mess with cutting back the song as well.
