I’ve always dreamed of getting married in some place that has a little charm/character. I find that in S.Florida most venues are either the typical hotel/country club ballroom OR a completely blank space with the character I want, but can’t afford because everything has to be brought in. My wedding coordinator found a venue that matched my vision exactly but it was the first place I looked at.
They’ve given us a really great deal because we’re booking really far in advance. ($2000 worth of things off) but we have to decide by the end of the month. We are on a limited budget but this place is so beautiful it doesn’t need a lot of decorations. I know that if we went to a less special venue it would be $1000-$2000 less but I probably need more decorations.
I’m in South Florida and this place comes out to $117/pp (including: ceremony space and chairs, bridal attendant for the night, bridal suite to get ready, cocktail hr with some food, cocktail tables, 2 bartenders, reception food, open bar, menu, reception table and chairs, floor length linen and table settings, free valet, tax and gratuity included) Is that a good deal?
Is it crazy to book the first venue that you look at? Thats the part thats giving me a hard time, I don’t think its a bad deal considering everything, but is it unheard of to book the first venue you really look at?

Not crazy at all. The first venue I arranged for us to look at was my DREAM venue! But of course I lined up a couple more for us to look at the same weekend, just to explore our options. We ended up going with another venue. So, I would say, look at at least a couple more before signing a conctract.

We only looked at one venue (although we researched MANY online). We couldn’t be happier with our choice!

We looked at a few venues over a weekend but ended up booking the first one we saw. If you love it, I’d say go for it.

Not crazy at all. In fact, that is exactly what we did! When you know, you just know!

We fell madly in love with the first venue we looked at. But I insisted to my husband that we couldn’t just go with the first one, so I dragged him to seven more venues.
…We ended up going with the first one and loving it. So no, not crazy! 🙂

We booked the first venue we saw. We liked it so much, we cancelled appointments for later in the day so we didn’t have to rush off or waste our time at places we didn’t want to book.

Not crazy at all. We booked the second venue we looked at. The prices fit and the place has great reviews. The coordinator told me to walk down the little aisle that the bride walks down, and I cried, so we booked it. Every time we tell a vendor where our wedding and reception will be, they all have something good to say, so it’s definitely reassuring.

I’m going to agree with everyone else. Not crazy at all. In fact, I did the same. I looked at many online but once I found one I liked, I went to check it out, I still liked, and my gut told me to go for it. And, most importantly, it was totally in my price range. It sounds like a good deal to me. I was afraid of places booking up for my date, so I didn’t hesitate.

If that’s what makes your heart sing, and its available and in the price range, DO IT!

Ditto PP’s comments. If you love it and you’ve done some research on other places that aren’t quite measuring up, I’d say go for it!

I did the same thing! I looked around online and everything was BLAH. When I found our venue, I sent my mom to check it out (she lives in the same state as the venue) and booked it! We haven’t even seen it in person. I just know it will be exactly what I want it to be!

We booked the only place we looked at! It was perfect.
