We did.  I just think it would be rude to leave out dessert.  Plus, we had way more than enough cake…

As someone who is bitter over the feeding vendor thing…no I’m not sharing my cake.

It’s courteous to do so and it would be rude to refuse to let them eat it. Alot of brides say they have leftover cake that they don’t know what to do with, and if it doesn’t get eaten at the reception, then it gets tossed out.

I don’t feel that it’s necessary but it is nice, and plus I don’t think I have ever been to a wedding where all of the cake gets eaten! So as long as you have enough it would probably be nice to let them have little peice of cake

I am allowing them to have cake too. Why feed them and not offer dessert?

We had a metric s**t ton of cake.  We encouraged people to have multiple slices, or to take some home.  I hope our vendors got to have son.

Haha – you don’t have to count them in a “slice fee” or cut fee or anything. Odds are, your venue will cut the cake and have slices hanging out on the table. After everyone’s had some, your vendor may eat a piece. I’ve never seen a cake completely gone, and the already cut slices get tossed otherwise.

A lot of vendors don’t eat it though…. believe it or not, wedding cake weekly isn’t all it’s cracked up to be 😉

I wouldn’t include them in your slice count, but as everyone has said there will probably be left over cake, so it’s easy enough to offer it if its there.

As a wedding vendor, I get cake most of the time, but usually only because there is tons leftover. If there have been dessert buffets, couples have encouraged me to visit it.

Dessert is always nice, but not expected. I wouldn’t include vendors in your cake head count.

I think if they’re staying for the whole reception (photographer and DJ for example) then it’s only polite to offer them cake. But that might just be me.

Yes, I want my vendors to be treated well, so they will be having cake.  Our reception comes with a huge dessert buffet too, and they’re more than welcome to both.

Well, if you have extra cake I am sure they wouldn’t mind but I don’t think they will have time to eat cake because there will likely be something they will be working on. But you could always send them home with some before they leave.

No cake. They are not a wedding guest. They are there to work, not eat.
