I often read about brides paying under $1000 for their flowers on here and other sites, but they never mention exactly what they are getting.
The 1st florist I met with quoted me at $4000+, the 2nd around $3500, the 3rd around $2000 (but I wasn’t really getting anything close to what I wanted & she didn’t have much experience).
I am paying around $2,400 for my bouquet, 6 bridesmaids’ bouquets, 12 boutonnieres (groom, groomsmen, ushers, fathers & ring bearer), 2 pomanders for flower girls, 2 nosegays (mothers), 1 wristlet (grandmother), 15 centerpieces, petals for the isle, & candles.
Is $2400 reasonable for what I’m getting? Or am I still paying too much?
Thanks in advance.

Holy crap you have a lot of important people. We’re paying $780 for my bouquet, 2 bridesmaid bouquets, tons of flower girl petals (adult BM/flower girl), 6 bouts (groom, 3 gm, 2 dads), 2 mom corsages, 10 centerpieces, additional flowers for aisle, and she threw in a free tossing bouquet. I was quoted $1,060 by another cheap florist for the same work and $2,000 from an upscale florist.

I was quoted at $1000 for the following: 1 bridal bouquet, 8 bridesmaid bouquets, 1 jr. bridesmaid bouquet, 7 corsages, 18 bouts, and an altar arrangement.
It’s hard for me to compare to your price though, because I am not having centerpieces made. My florist says centerpieces is what really hits hard money-wise, so your extra $1400 might be justified!

It is hard to say because it varies SO MUCH based on where you live, what flowers are being used, what season your wedding is in, and what kind of centerpieces you’re having.
I had a newer florist, two sisters who had just branches off from their old companies to start their own floral business, so that meant lower prices. I had a Detroit wedding in September. We paid 1100 for a bridal bouquet and 4 Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets of garden roses and ranunculus, petals for the aisle, 2 rose corsages for the moms, and 17 centerpieces – half garden rose pomanders and half manazita branches with small roses wired to them.

It sounds like you’re getting a good deal.
I paid $2,500 for six shepherd’s hook aisle decorations, one altar decoration (including a wrought iron gate, tulle, and several floral bundles), bride’s bouquet, six wedding party boutonieres, three corsages, six reception table centerpieces, and three random arrangements (bar, guestbook table, escort card table). I think there might have also been a gift-table arrangemet. And we also had rose petals on the aisle that I wasn’t really expecting. My wedding planner and I both thought we got the deal of the century on the flowers.

the larger the order the more you pay. Our flower budget is $300 and that includes my DIY bridal bouquet, 7 bouts, 3 reg corsages, 2 wrist corsages (for my BMs, they don’t want bouquets) and one lovely altar centerpiece. the rest of the flowers are going to be free from family and friends, just to have some around (we aren’t doing floral centerpieces).
I should also say here that I got a great deal on a floral coupon through weddingful.com, I paid $85 for $200 worth. Made it possible for us to give bouts and corsages to our parents! 🙂

Under $1,000 usually gets you bridal party flowers an possibly something really small for the few tables. It all depends on the quanity and quality. So you do get what you pay for.
Your prices seem more realistic. (Those higher estimates I do hope are full of flowers and are more elaborate than the lower end ones.)

Way too much money! You pay a lot for centerpieces with all fresh flowers. What got me first interested in doing wedding florals is when I got married and I couldn’t afford these outrageous prices from Florist. I did my own, they were absolutely beautiful, and I fell in love with creating for weddings. I even have something to show for my flowers…..still have my beautiful bouquet and my head table centerpiece. That doesn’t happen with real florals.

I think $2400 is very reasonable for how much you are getting. I paid about 2800 for a similar amount of flowers, plus a few large arrangements for the reception and church.
