I have to agree that David’s has really suprised me. I have read stories and post about DB nightmares. I told myself I wasn’t even going to chance it.

Well.. Mom decided that since we were in town we would go check it out anyways. I probably went in with one of the worst attitudes and set on that I wouldn’t like it.

Boy was I wrong.. We didn’t have an appointment, but they still managed to squeeze me in. The consultant taking care of us was fantastic, helpful, and made me feel so comfortable. All the other places I went to was just meh service and help. We were able to try on Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses and wedding dresses.

When everything was over and done, and to my suprise, I ended up finding my dress there! Completely blew my mind. Plus the consultant gave us a heads up about a sale so we saved 75 bucks!

I will probably only need a bustle done to the dress too! The dress fits like a glove!

i think it’s also a good to remember that having an opinion on a store is completely different than having an opinion on the dresses that are offered. yes i am not a fan of david’s simply because of an especially annoying past shopping experience but that doesn’t mean i don’t have good things to say about their dresses. so try to keep those aspects seperate when gauging people’s comments.

i was really impressed with the styles for this year! i went in to try on a bridesmaid dress for my friend’s wedding and i kept checking out all the pretty dresses. the only thing that is still lacking is the fabric. most of the dresses we touched felt like sandpaper. come to think of it, some of the watters & wtoo dresses i tried on felt the same way and those are way more expensive…

Thanks, everyone!  🙂

@tea … of course some people may dislike just the store, I’ve heard of many bad experiences there.  The comments I was referring to were speaking of the quality of the dresses, in particular.  Everyone is entitled to their own opinion … and that’s what WB is for!  No harm done!  🙂

@Puggy: I’m wearing the Oleg Cassini gown you posted here, and I really think the DB version is an improvement on the Badgley Mishka (sp?) version. I think it’s the bodice – the gathering on the DB gown is much neater, leaving the Bridesmaid or Best Man one looking a little wrinkly. I also like that the beading on the DB is more subtle. I’m not one for too much sparkle. I know I’m not the first person to compare these two gowns and like the DB one better. Just my two cents.

David’s has a good selection. They always take influences from other designers and try to bring them in a more affordable way. I can say that one could find something to love in David’s if you just look around 🙂
