No, I don’t think it’s bad. All through wedding planning, I wanted to sell my dress after the wedding. Currently, it’s been at my cousin’s house since the wedding day. I see no rush to get it back. I am a little more hesitant to sell it now though, because now that I’ve worn it for my wedding, it’s a gotten a little sentimental. Haha.

A huge percentage of brides sell their dress. I did! In our small apartment, a big poufy dress just takes up too much space to keep! Plus, i’d rather use the cash for traveling or camera gear instead of for a dress that i’ll never wear, taking up precious space we really need for something else!

Many brides sell their dresses. The reality is that few of our daughters will ever wear our dress. Styles change. How many of us are wearing our mother’s dress?

If you hang on to it I can almost guarantee that it will sit in a cupboard or storage area for years and then you will eventually give it away.

@julies1949:  Your daughters, how many girls do you have? 🙂

EDIT: Ah, I see what you mean now. Thought you had a lot of daughters. LOL.

@kimsryman:  I think alot of people sell their dresses, and what you are feeling I can’t say anything about that though. I don’t know if I would want to sell my dress after the Wedding. I do not think it’s a bad thing if you decide to sell. 🙂

I bought my dress from another bride here on the Bee, and I may end up selling it once I’m done with it!  🙂

I thought I’d sell my dress after the wedding. Practically, though, it probably wouldn’t sell for very much, and it was made specifically to my measurements so I doubt it would really fit another bride well. And besides, my mom had my dress cleaned after the wedding, and it’s been living in her huge closet since. I’m thinking she’s holding onto it so I don’t sell it! Can’t complain, though, they payed for it so if she’s not really wanting me to sell it, I can totally respect that.
