@slydon:  I think sometimes people want to be validated and then get upset when they aren’t. Also, sometimes the tone that you mean to use doesn’t come across in text over the internet.

@slydon:  It depends on the poster to be honest. Some people can suck it up and understand that not everyone agrees with them but other people cant do that.

I think it can depend upon the subject. Say for example, a bee asks for “honest opinions” on the dress that she just bought and is excited about. If I don’t like the dress, I don’t say anything because A) I wouldn’t want to burst their excitement bubble and B) the dress is bought, its done.

@paigers91:  I agree. People often come here to be validated. They feel legitimately right, so when they ask our opinion, they expect it to fall in line with theirs. And don’t take it well when it doesn’t. I’m guilty of the occasional validation post, I’m sure, but I try to take it like a champ, because I respect it when other posters do.

Some brides take everyone elses thoughts and options on board really well. I have been slammed a few times which isn’t very nice when I don’t agree with the poster. I always try to be helpful and supportive where I can but I think it’s difficult to really understand the whole situation other brides are in and there’s heaps of room for miss communication. I find that many times I just read and move on without posting.

@sweetpea87:  Yep,there’s just so much diversity on the boards that it’s impossible that all of us are going be in line with what you post sometimes. There’s always going to be someone that differs from what you think is the norm. (and it may be the norm where I live but not where you live!)

@Bride7844:  Lol, I do that too. Sometimes, I’ll start typing a post and then go “ehh…not worth it to get into it” and hit the back button

Hahaha I find etiquette a BIG issue I get slammed on when I comment – mainly cos I think we do things a little more “relaxed” in Australia, and (within my social groups) we pretty much just do what we want 🙂

@ShellVee:  For the most part, I tend to be very “hey, whatever is cool!” but there are a FEW things that get me. People that want to elope and have a big wedding later, for example, are totally fine to me. But then, my Fiance is also in the military so I guess it kind of comes from that but there are some people here that get so upset when they hear about that idea!

I am totally one  to post a lol cat when things get…. testy.  The easiest thing to do is post your two cents and move on. OR if it explodes in to a internet duchbaggary contest just get some pop corn and enjoy the show.

Although there IS a difference between saying ” I am not really a fan of the dress, the but bow does not really do anything for your figure” and ” OMGZZZZ THAT DERESS IS FUGLY!!!!! YOU LOOK LIKE A CUPPYCAKE!!! OMGSZ!!!

Yea… don’t do the last bit. will not go over well.

Also for your entertainment : A useful Infopic to dealing with internet peoples.

I think you can be honest on here but it really sucks that you can’t be sarcastic!
