I gave out a few by hand! The easiest thing to do is address them all ahead of time and make a list, so you know exactly who you gave them to. It would get confusing otherwise.
Off topic, but does anyone else do a double take when they see a STD thread? I know it means save the date, but when I first joined, I totally read it as sexually transmitted disease in my head.

Stamps do add up, Miss Root. Especially since you have to do this again with the actual invites. I will have to mail the STDs out to my out of town guests anyway. It’s just an extra for the others…they’ll be in town.

I handed out as many by hand as I could to save on stamp money. It was also nice to see people’s reactions when they got it.

LOL, Chillmer, i think everyone had that reaction at first.
I agree, hotwings…I want to see people’s faces too 🙂

I think it is fine. I tried to hand out as many thank you cards as I could by hand. Was tired of paying postage by that point.

As the other ladies have mentioned, I think it is totally OK to hand them out. I handed out STDs and invites to a few people, especially those I saw on a daily basis. If you can save some pennies then by all means do it!

Thanks, amarie and Roddy!

I know I’m not going to be the popular vote here, but I agree with Miss Root. My old roommate gave me my thank you note when she saw me next rather than sending it off to me, and I was a little offended. I thought that she was saying that I could spend a ton of money on a dress (I was a bridesmaid) my hair, shoes, hotel room and a gift, but she couldn’t spend money on a stamp for me. I’m all about saving where you can but it made me feel like I wasn’t worth the stamp.

I think it’s fine.
By the way, that is the funniest question I’ve ever seen. Pass out STDs by hand! hahaha.

Thanks for your opinion too, twopeas!
LOL, kcasam, that is really funny!

I think etiquette-wise it is OK but there’s something really fun and exciting, as a guest, about getting one in the mail. I always love getting them. It puts a smile on my face.
