I think this is adorable!  I totally wanted to do a Christmas card/pregnancy announcement, but I am not quite far enough along that I was comfortable announcing to everyone quite yet.  But I think since you’re 26 weeks, it’s a great idea!

I wouldn’t do it till the baby was born – thought about it though.

We used to put a +1 in brackets, like this when we had 2 kids and expecting our 3rd:

Joe, Paula (+1), Sally, Sarah

(p.s. I like OP’s idea too. We did that sort of thing as long as the pregnancy was public knowledge. We didn’t put baby’s name because we weren’t telling, in fact we didn’t even know the gender).

I went back and on this one. In the end this is what our looked like:

Love,

Wonderstruck and Darling Husband

(and baby Landon, too!)

Somehow I felt the parentheses made is better, maybe that’s just me though. But we’re halfway through our pregnancy so everyone getting a card from us already knows that we’re expectng, and what the gender and name is. So no confusion there for us.

I wouldn’t personally until the baby was born.

Definitely wouldn’t and would cringe if i received one.  My sister just had a baby three weeks ago, she added his name on in different ink as had already written her cards before he was born!

@loveknows:  i think it is really cute! i have seen it a lot, but i think it is best if you put the due date next to it so people know the baby isn’t here yet!

example

baby ____ ! (due 3/24/13)
