I want to buy a custom rubber stamp of my initials and/or address. My fiance and I live together, and will stay in the same house after we get married. I want to get a stamp that we will be able to use after the wedding as well…
So my question is whether or not it is ok to put use my new last name before I am married for the return address?

I had the same debate. … You’re not supposed to use your married name until after you’re married…. so my suggestion/what we’re going to do….

It’ll do for the wedding, and then I’ll get a rubber stamp for thank you/christmas cards!

I definitely wouldn’t put your new last name on pre-wedding stationary. If I saw that I would think it was really weird. I was going to suggest the exact same thing as the above poster, get a stamp with just your first names on it.

I agree with PP…it would be really strange for you to use a name that isn’t yours (which your married name won’t be until you legally change your name). My return address stamp will just be our first names.

You can order it but I wouldn’t use it until after the wedding. Guests will probably give you the side-eye for using your married name already lol We just did first names on our stamp so that we could use it for everything for the wedding as well since we live together in a house we own.

Our stamp was just our first names as well, and we’ve enjoyed (LOVED) using it before the wedding and since the wedding. It’s on all our thank-you notes. No, I wouldn’t use your married name before the wedding, for a variety of reasons, one of which being that you’d confuse a lot of people.

i agree with PP that you should just order a stamp with your first names only…that is actually on my list of things to do in the next few weeks. i’m in love with the hand-written one mrs. penguin posted about recently, but it’s pretty pricey.

I would just do the first names and save the new last name stamp for after your wedding. People might think it’s weird to have it on there already, or wonder if you’re already legally married.
