I do not understand this query.  How is this a question that anyone else could possibly answer for you?  Is this not a personal preference?

Loving all the rude, snarky comments about tampons. Really showing off your reading comprehension skills ladies. Good luck OP!

cassey1237:  I wouldn’t want to go shopping for dresses on my period. Not only would I be irrationally concerned that I would bleed on a dress (even though I haven’t had an embarrassing accident like that since age ~14), but I’d just feel bloated and crampy and gross the entire time. Pads also carry a greater leakage risk than tampons — just something to keep in mind. I would reschedule for the following weekend if your sister lives locally.

I dress shopped on my period. The only reason I would hesitate is if you bloat like crazy on your period. I carry an extra 4+ pounds of water weight and felt like a hippo in a lot of dresses. If that’s not a concern, I wouldn’t worry about it! I have very light periods though, so I wear white all the time when I have it.

ETA: Please ignore the snarky comments.  Your question is a reasonable one.

cassey1237:  Sorry if this is not what you want to hear, but I would not shop for wedding dresses during my period.  My period makes me very bloated and crampy, for starters.  Plus, a pad really could show underneath certain dress.  Finally, the threat of leakage is just too scary.

I made sure sure to schedule my dress appointments (and wedding, for that matter) during a non-period time.  You want to feel your absulute best when trying on dresses.

Yeah just wear your pad/tampon whatever underwear and spanks. They don’t like stare at you they sort of avert their eyes away from your junk for the most part anyway.

If you’re comfortable I don’t see why it would be a problem. If you’re worried about the pad showing I would wear spanx or something while you’re trying on the dresses!

kelmpm7809:  I agree that it should take care of a pad showing.

Also if you are bloated be kind to yourself when trying on dresses. Also it could be possible you will be on your period for your wedding. I planned to lose weight for my wedding but I wanted to find a dress that I felt comfortable in even if I was a little bloated or whatever. I think you will be fine OP.
