Hi, I just had this moissanite ring made and used 3mm sidestones. Now that I have the ring, it feels like too much on my finger and I wish I had gone with the 2.5 mm side stones I was deliberating between. I need to take the ring back anyway to have the shoulders smoothed down (they bump out in a weird way). My question is, should I ask the jeweler to replace the sidestones with the smaller size? I mean, is that even possible without rebuilding the whole ring? If it’s an easy fix, I’d like to do it but I don’t want to have to remake the ring. Thanks!

The ring is beautiful! I think they would have to possibly remake the setting to accommodate the smaller side stones. The best way to find out is to ask the jeweller that made the ring. It doesn’t hurt to ask the question. What colour is the centre? It’s lovely 😍 Please keep us posted on what you decide to do.

I really like the side stones you have. Granted, I’m bias because they look similar to my own ring.

I think it looks absolutely beautiful just the way it is! I think the side stones are very proportionate and compliment the large center nicely. But you have to be happy. I don’t know if they’d need to recast the entire ring, but they would probably have to do some tweaking to the prongs, but the jeweler would know best.

Personally I think the ring is stunning the way it is but I can see what you are seeing.. What kind of stome is the asscher? You’ll have to ask the jeweler when you go it what is involved in getting smaller stones.

I personally love the proportions of your three stone as is, it’s stunning! You most likely would have to have your entire setting remade to accommodate smaller side stones so keep that in mind. However, if you really aren’t happy with it, it may be worth it to get a new setting and make all these changes at once. Keep us posted bee!

I think thebring is beautiful the way it is I’m not a three stone type of person either but the way the proportions are now I think is beautiful. But YOU have to love it I hope you find that it’s an easy fix.

Thanks for all your replies! The center stone is a blue/green moissanite I bought on eBay for $30 😂. I was surprised to see how beautiful it was when I received it, so I chose to make a RHR with it. I did ask the jeweler, and he is going to remake the ring for me. I think it’s the right thing to do, since along with the other 2 issues I think somehow it’s not the right size either. I put a ring guard on it and it fits better, so I think it’s about a quarter size too big as well. I see how it looks proportional in the photo, but it just feels like too much on my size 5 finger. Now I’m debating between 2.5mm and 2 mm sidestones. I like a dainty look, even with a larger center. What do y’all think?

jessamine24 : I think the 2mm would be better as I don’t think going down by half a millimeter to the 2.5mm would make much difference in size. It will be beautiful bee. What a fabulous find for such a good price!

jessamine24 : since it’s being remade what I would do is eliminate the side stones entirely, put it in a bezel and have a split shank. But that’s just me
