Not tacky!! If you can live with then be thrilled you can put that money elsewhere into your and FI’s future! I’m not covering my chairs and they look very similar! We’ll use the money for honeymoon excursions! πŸ™‚

i think it depends what your other colors are that you are decorating with whether or not they stand out and if you will be happy.  as a guest, i wouldn’t care AT ALL about the color of the chairs or make judgement or think anything is tacky.  it really depends on you and the look you are going for.

I think weddings in general are tacky LOL! Even mine. Especially mine! But no, you really don’t need to have chair covers. I have been to lots of classy events that did not have them.

No one remembers the chairs at your wedding unless they were uncomfortable and rusty.

Oh definitely not! I don’t get the whole chair covers anyways, most people don’t notice the chairs lol

Frankly, I think chair condoms are dumb.

But beyond that, I wouldn’t call it “tacky.” Tacky is like, telling people the cost of your wedding or charging them to attend or something. Yeah, they’re not the prettiest chairs in the world, but you do what you can afford and I think people will just be happy to have a place to sit! Although chairs DO have a big visual impact (because they’re a repeating element and there are a lot of them), you can do a lot with the table to take the focus off of them, like have big centerpieces and bright tablecloths. But in the end, I, for one, can’t remember ANY of the banquet chairs I’ve sat in over the years and I also can’t recall ever walking into a reception and thinking, “God, what hideous chairs” OR “God, great chairs!”

I think those chairs are perfectly acceptable just how they are.

I think whether just the sash would work would depend what you’re thinking of doing…

No matter what the chair looked like, unless it was crazy or just super uncomfortable–I wouldn’t really care what it looked like.  Plus, yours are a great neutral color so I think you will be okay aesthetically with a lot of different color schemes.

I also wanted chair covers originally (mine are like yours, but burgundy) but I think I’ve decided against them due to the extra cost. So we’re just going to incorporate them into our color scheme and hope no one we know is that judgmental that they will be offended by our uncovered chairs πŸ˜‰
