@phishy179:  I don’t think it’s TACKY but your concern about non-tech savy people having to RSVP is valid.

Why do the people throwing the shower want it done that way?

@phishy179:  They don’t mind throwing you a shower, but they do mind a few phone calls?  Geesh – lazy!

I would not do this. It’s confusing, and yes I think it’s tacky.  Why can’t they email the host, or you, or whomever?

People without computers can call. Why can’t it say :

Please Rsvp to your name at [email protected] or 000-000-0000.

My question is: is everyone invited to the shower invited to the wedding or vice versa?  If the wedding website is for all of the wedding guests, this could cause some drama if some people aren’t invited to the shower.  Or maybe create a separate “shower” website for the RSVPs only.

I think an email address or maybe survey monkey would be better….

@weddingnerd That’s even better!  I forgot my shower hostesses provided email addresses and phone numbers, not RSVP cards.  Those are for the wedding invitations.  I’ve never seen it done for a shower.

not tacky, but i understand how it could make things harder for your guests who don’t use the internet.

for my shower guests had the option of rsvp-ing by phone or by e-mail. they set up an e-mail account specifically for my shower.

@phishy179:  I have been invited to showers through evite, it was good, I liked it. You were able to offerto bring anything and see who else was attending. However, the hosts were very gracious and called those guests that are not tech savvy. It likely wasn’t less work because of that, but it’s a good option

@phishy179:  SORRY! Just realized thy I didn’t actually answer your question. I would think it would be strange to use your wedding website for shower RSVP’s unless EVERYONE invited to the shower is invited to the wedding too, and those non-tech savvy people get a phone call
