So my wedding is June 9th, and I just found a site called overnightprints.com, that will do 100 save the dates for a total of $40 after taxes and shipping. I uploaded my own design(attached below) but I havent actually ordered them yet(so it will probably take 2 weeks for me to get them so around 2/23/2012) Because now I’m thinking its kind of late to mail out save the dates, but I do have a few relatives that live out of town. So of course they need notice so they can get tickets and reserve hotels etc. So what does everyone think, send out save the dates, even though, I’ll be sending out Invites at the end of March? Or just say forget it?

Honestly, I think it is a little too late. I am getting married in June and we are sending the invites out in April (per etiquette). That’s only about 2 months away…it may seem a little redundant to send an STD at this point.

I agree with PP, BUT it is your wedding, you get to do what you want! If you like your Save-The-Date Cards and you can afford the extra money to send them out, I’d say do it! An extra reminder about your awesome day won’t hurt anyone 😀

I would save yourself some money, call the out of town relatives and let them know the date and skip straight to the invites. If you (or your family) want it as a keepsake, though, I say go for it.

I don’t think it’s too late. I just got one last month for a couple getting married at the end of April.

I was thinking it would be a little redundent also, but what do you think about sending out some kind of email “save the date” for our out of town family, so at least then they still have a little extra notice? I was consider throwing something together throught powerpoint and sending it out this weekend.

@futuremrsbrandieb: I think Save-The-Date Cards are cute – if you want to send some out, you should!
