My wedding is a year away and I already ordered my wedding dress which I will have in August but without alterations yet. I already have my veil too. Is it too early or good to have this already? Any other ladies get their dress 11 months ahead?

The dress was the first thing I bought, and it was almost a year out. Jut don’t get it altered until closer!

Glad to see all these responses. My wedding is likely going to be in Sept 2013 and I am planning on buying my dress asap.

My wedding isn’t until August ’13 and I bought my dress in February. You definitely aren’t too early.

My cousin is getting married June 15th, 2013 and she bought hers around June/July 2011–so I think you are good 🙂

Nope not at all! You’re doing great!

I bought my dress in May 2012, and my wedding is May 2013. So, you’re fine!

I WISH I’d had my dress 11 months ahead! It’s definitely a good thing: One less thing to stress about in a few months!

Advice: Although it is going to be very tempting – DON’T LOOK AT YOUR DRESS OR TRY IT ON A BUNCH OF TIMES OVER THE NEXT YEAR. If you can, keep it at your Mom’s house or something. If you keep staring at it, you WILL form dress regret. Advice complete.

I am also a June 2013 bride, and just bought my dress! It won’t be here until around November. Congrats on finding your dress!

I ordered my dress 14 months in advance. It was such a relief to have that part over, and I never once had even an inkling of dress regret.
I think it’s awesome that you’re already all set on your dress! Obviously, hold off on alterations till the wedding is much closer. 🙂 Congrats!

It might be a little late to ask this question! I did the same thing and regretted it tbh only because I felt I’d not seen enough dresses but was stuck with my first choice. If you love it now, you’ll still love it in a year. Just don’t spend too much time looking at dresses on here!!
