@unique414:  Nope, not at all… I’m May 24th 2014 and I have started planning. I booked our venue last weekend.

Its good to get as much planning out of the way as possible, especially since you can catch this year’s wedding prices (they tend to ALWAYS increase). As far as invitations, I think it depends on if your guests are in the same state/ or comming from out of state (thus needing to make travel arrangements).

Pretty much all of our guests will be comming from out of state so we are doing save the dates and invitations. We will probably send the invites out 4 months before!

Hope this helps…

No, it is not too early!

Invitations should go out sometime between 6 – 12 weeks in advance, depending on if people are traveling from out of town, if it’s a busy holiday weekend, etc. 8 weeks seems to be about normal. If you are concerned about people holding the date, you can send a Save the Date. I’d recommend sending a Save the Date about 8 – 10 months in advance.

I don’t think it’s too early to start planning. There is so much involved in planning a wedding if you give yourself enough time you won’t get stressed out and you will really be able to enjoy being engaged. You should send out save the dated at least 6 months before you wedding (if you plan on doing them) and invitations should go out 3 months prior to the big day. If you are having a destination wedding the invitations would probably go out earlier. I hope I helped!

Ila not to early to plan at all, Stds can be sent. Invites should wait unless you are having a Destination Wedding, then the earlier you get details out the better.

Never too early. Wedding invitations go out 6 – 8 weeks before the date. Save the dates can go out 6 months to 1 year before your wedding. Good Luck!

No, it’s not too early! It’s actually really smart to start early so that you can tackle one task at a time…with pleny of time!

Since it’s so early, if you send out save the dates, send them only to FOR SURE guests (like family and close friends). As my planning has gone along, I’m realizing we may have to make our guest list smaller than I anticipated, so we might have to constrict the list, and I’m glad I hadn’t sent everyone save the dates. A lot can change in a year—we’ve become closer with some friends and began hanging out less with others, and I changed jobs and lost touch with some old coworkers.

Check out multiple venues (and get pricing on a few so you can do some bargaining with the one you want), and it’s never to early to go dress shopping!!!

My Fiance and I started looking at venues and were in the beginning stage of the guest list in less than 1 month of being engaged.

I agree with the previous posters. You should at least start looking for a venue if you do not have one already. I have a wedding timeline that helps me stay on task with what I need to do in three month increments. I don’t follow it to the T , but it is a good reference.

It’s NEVER to early. The earlier you plan the more time you have to pay. I started planning 14 months in advance.
