Hi brides!
I posted this in month twins as well but after i posted i thought i might get more responses here. I’m a fall 2014 bride. I have had many ideas in my head for my “theme” and I have narrowed it down to a few. I’m thinking bird cages, mason jars, branches with hanging tea light candles, lace, ect. Rustic/shabby chic. I know a lot can change in 2 years. I feel I am pretty set on this theme though. I have been looking at a lot of classified ads lately and have found some very reasonable priced items I could use. My plan is to over the next year slowly purchase items so it’s not such a huge expense at one time. Would you buy this early?? Is it too early? Have you already purchased anything? Thanks ladies!!

I would say that for this one it IS too early, because i suspect that by the time your wedding rolls around people will have moved onto some other trend and consider the “rustic/shabby chic” thing outdated/overdone. You still have plenty of time, so I would wait. =(

I am an August 2014 bride, and have booked my venue, and the wedding coordinator told me to not even think about themes until a year in advance, because she has had so many brides change their minds and spent a lot more money in the end changing things around. Especially since rustic weddings have been in style for quite a long time, I think that trends will change in the next 2 years.

Id also say its a little early.. I waited until the 1 year mark to do anything and even then i ended up changing my mind 6 times after haha 1 year is a long time, ive been slowly purchasing things over this year and it really isnt that big of a deal. Storing the stuff isnt easy either, ive taken up 2 closets in my home and theres still 7 months to the day!
