Hi fall 2014 brides!
I have had many ideas in my head for my “theme” and I have narrowed it down to a few. I’m thinking bird cages, mason jars, branches with hanging tea light candles, lace, ect. Rustic/shabby chic. I know a lot can change in 2 years. I feel I am pretty set on this theme though. I have been looking at a lot of classified ads lately and have found some very reasonable priced items I could use. My plan is to over the next year slowly purchase items so it’s not such a huge expense at one time. Would you buy this early?? Is it too early? Have you already purchased anything? Thanks ladies!!

@soontobehisbride: mine is early 2014 so not as long of a wait but ive already purchased my dress, started making my headband, and made my bouquet. I had the theme set before we even got engaged!! as long as youre sure you wont change your mind i would say go for it.

I vote that its NOT too early. Like you said, you don’t want one big expense at once. And if something should happen, God forbid, where the engagement is off, there are plenty of future brides, especially in the beehive, who go with rustic theme weddings. You could easily sell the items.

It’s never too early to start thinking, gathering ideas, images and samples…but it’s always a good idea to give yourself time to make sure it’s what you want, and you’ve got lots of time, so have fun, explore and don’t be afraid to change your mind like…90 times!
