@LouLou513: It wouldn’t be too late if you sent them in December.  Invitations are generally sent anywhere from 6-8 weeks in advance, 12 weeks is pretty good advanced notice for out of state peeps.  I just mailed my international invitations last week, 4 months out.

Nope! Not at all, invites usually go out around the 2-3 month mark. December would be fine for STD’s 🙂

Its not too late for the date you’re getting married, but I would send them out ASAP rather than wait till December. You don’t want your Save-The-Date Cards getting lost in the shuffle with holiday cards.

I think if you send them out the first week of December, you will be fine. That’s what I am doing and my wedding is in June, so I’m just a few weeks after you.

You could also depending on who you are inviting vs who is on your Holiday Card lists if you send them. Double up on the “Happy Holidays” and Save the date please.

@LouLou513: aww glad you liked it. We doubled up last year on our Annoucning the newly engaged and Merry Christmas card too. Got a lot of compliments on it from our friends 😉

We are getting married 6.1.12 and didnt send our save the dates out yet. They are just about ready to be mailed. We might be cutting it close etiquette wise, but we are still gonna do it.

I’m right there with you girl… my wedding is 5/26/2012 and I need to get mine sent out still! I think (hope!) it should be fine. After all, I’ve had plenty of friend who never even did Save the Dates!

Save-The-Date Cards aren’t part of any “traditional requirement” so you can send them whenever you want.  Go for it girl!
