stlkennedy92 :  Do it!! I think it’s a great idea and anyone coming to your rehersal dinner is there for you and FH, not a foncy meal. I’d be way more excited about a great lounge with good beer than a fancy dinner anywhere!

As long as your Fiance is ok with it, it’s perfectly fine,  Rehearsal dinners don’t need to be super fancy!

stlkennedy92 :  A lot of people I know would be very excited about attending a rehearsal dinner at a brewpub.

Daisy_Mae :  I’m not familiar with it either, but from looking at photos and reviews, it looks like a standard brewpub.

stlkennedy92 :  Does your FH actually work at this venue or is he more head office pop into the venue? The only thing I could find weird would be if it was the first and then all his work “friends” had to serve you all night. I personally would find it uncomfortable to have my party there, a bit like I was saying “hey guys look at my great party that I didn’t invite you to and bring me more chicken wings and wipe up that mess while you are at it”.

j_jaye :  eh.  Serving people in the service industry is kind of the best–they tend to do way fewer of the most annoying things and even if its like this event where only the groom is in the industry, I’d be pretty happy to work the event cus i’d be counting on a really nice tip.  People who’ve worked as a server before tend to tip well–vs. working other parties can be a real drag because often people will decide they just dont want to leave a 20% or even 10% tip because the bill is so big, so you sometimes are lucky if you make enough to cover tip-out.  (The restaurants I worked at made servers pay a percent of the sales total for expo, kitchen, and busboys.  Typically about 4%.)

It’s actually smart to use the discount and I’m sure you all will be treated much better because everyone knows your FH!

stlkennedy92 :  Not trashy at all. My friend is having her reception at the restaurant where her fiance works. They’re going to save a lot of money, especially considering the high COL for that area.

No at all take advantage of the discount! It would be silly not to.
