I don’t think what I am doing is any different than an expectant mother reserving a spot & then deciding last minute that she is goin to be a stay at home mom. Daycares, in my opinion, will fill quickly no matter what because there is always someone that is in need of the care. If DH & I let the day are know in advance, I’m sure they will be able to fill that spot rather quickly.

I am on the fence about this. I am currently looking at daycare facilities. The one I am going to see tomorrow has one slot open. I think that can make all the difference in fairness or not. Yes daycares fill up quickly, but if someone who needs that spot can’t get it because you are on the fence… What if that is the situation with your #1 option? How would you feel?

The daycare that we first put the deposit on has several spots open. In fact, they have a big sign up that says “now enrolling”. The second daycare doesn’t have any openings until February (when we would need them) & if we didn’t choose them, I would give them advance notice so they could fill the spot.
