if YOU like to wear a full face rock it, if you like au natural then so be it! I’ve never been told anything about my makeup routine and I have worked in several different industries.

*As said in my post, this is coming from a girl who literally NEVER wears make-up but considers my best physical professional appearance part of the interview process.
Obviously if you’re applying for Home Depot…who cares. If you are applying for the CEO of Bank of America, throw some mascara on, the same way men will make sure they don’t have crusty dry face-skin, chapped lips, and dandruff at their interview.
I don’t think we ‘have’ to do anything. I was a recruitment consultant and wether or not a client I put forward a client with make up or not had absolutely nothing to do with it. In the UK I had to take their D.O.B and gender off of their CV because it was illegal at the time to have it on their in case it was ageist or sexist. They would have gone nuts if I said a client should wear make up for the interview. It was all only based on their experience and skills and this was for high end IT placements.
Personally I used to wear a little for work as I like make up, it makes me feel good about myself, only a little though. I like the natural look (tinted moisturiser, smidge of under eye concealer, taslucent powder, mascara, blush and lip balm).
My sister works in a professional environment and never wears any. She only wears mascara on nights out with a light dusting of face powder and that’s it. She is quite obsessed with her hair and has it straghtened every day and she dresses beautifully, better than me but she hates make up and always has done. She doesn’t need it anyway.
I think each to their own but it a work place it should not matter one iota wether or not a woman wears make up. If anything too much make up looks unprofessional but even then that didn’t effect Elle in Legally Blonde did it ;).
