It really depends on your friends and family who will be recieving these cards. My sister adores getting photo cards for christmas, while I on the other hand find them a little vain and do not enjoy recieving them.

@KateByDesign:  I think especially if you’re sending cards to people you see a couple times a year  or less.. it’s nice to “see” how you’re doing!

I love getting Christmas cards with pics on them. Every year, we get a christmas card from friends of ours who have been married like 20 years no kids, and it’s always a picture of them at whatever place they went on vacation this year. They take a big vacation once a year so I love getting their card every year with a picture of where they went.

@KateByDesign:  I don’t think it’s vain at all.  People in my area ALWAYS have pics of their family on the front (married w/ kids and married w/o kids…some include their pets).

I don’t see how its any more or less vain that if you did have kids. I say, go for it!

I don’t think it’s vain at all. I love getting photo Christms cards from my cousins I barely see. There’s a bunch on my parents’ fridge that are several years old.

I would love to get a photo card!

These aren’t big in Australia, but I think it is such a lovely idea.

We always do a photo card! I love them, even if it’s just us, we always try to do a different background and a different time of year, just to give them all different feelings. We took ours last weekend.

This is our photo for this years!

I don’t think it’s vain. I think family/friends almost always appreciates cards with pictures. 🙂 You could do a cute picture or a silly one or something.

@Pokemon:  is it maybe just not an australian tradition? I have a lot of memories rooted in receiving and hanging christmas card every year. I LOVE getting them now (with or without photo!). It just makes the home feel so much… homier? haha. Especially for family and friends you won’t actually get to see over the holidays, it is nice to let them know you’re thinking of them.

I have every intention of doing a photo card! We just moved and I want to take one with us in front of our skyline, or maybe one of the landmarks (although no one back home will get it). Last year we took pictures of ourselves and got good reviews, so obv our friends don’t mind our vanity too much 🙂
