I don’t think it’s weird, although if everything else is matchy matchy then a white dress would probably look better.

Maybe add hints of gold or brass?

People usually don’t mix ivory and white.

Some ivories are very close to white, others almost look yellow-  I would get swatches and check it out if you have your heart set on ivory.  Otherwise, white would probably look the best with everything.

Usually people can’t tell the difference between white and ivory unless they are right next to each other and at weddings people don’t wear whites so the bride can choose whatever she likes more. However, if red and white are your wedding colors, I would feel your ivory dress will look yellow in pictures.

No one is going to notice that your dress is ivory unless your bridesmaids are in white dresses. Which I’m guessing they won’t be? So don’t worry!

I agree that you’ll need to look at swatches, probably. ‘Ivory’ encompasses a ton of different shades, so you’ll need to find out which one you’re dealing with :). If it’s just slightly off-white, then I would hold it up to a pure white and see how it looks.

If the groom is going to be in white, I would go with a white dress.

I agree with @magilnyc. Match your groom! You’ll be standing beside him for pictures, not tablecloths and invitations and things like that.
