Nope, I’m too traditional as well. I think it was really something special to share with my mom and my bridesmaids. Plus, I can’t wait to walk down the aisle and surprise him.

I did not take my Fiance with me but I don’t think it’s wrong for someone else to do so.  I think everyone should do what feels right to them. 🙂

I don’t think so!  My Fiance was originally going to come with me, because I wanted his opinion and he wanted to be part of the process (yay!), but he decided to sit out as ot let me and my mom and sister have some bonding time.  At any rate, he has seen me in the dress, though I know this is unconventional :-).

No, not weird. I totally understand, but I wouldn’t do it.

It’s unusual, but not wrong by any means. If you both feel comfortable, go for it!

I think I hit yes on the poll, when I meant to say no.

DH was with me when I bought it. We had just moved to a new city, and didn’t know anyone, and I wanted the honest opinion of someone I trusted, not someone who would make a commission on the sale. I didn’t think twice about it, and haven’t regretted it for a second.

I haven’t gone shopping with Fiance but I have shown him photos of dresses I like on the internet and got his opinion. He knows me inside and out (I think given free reign he would choose something almost exact to what I would choose), so I think he knows how I will be done up on the day so I don’t think he’s going to be to shocked/ surprised.

Do whatever works with you and your Fiance.

I wouldn’t have had a problem if Fiance wanted to go, however, when I asked him he wanted me to go so he could be surprised on our wedding day. Since then, he’s seen the dress but he has no clue what it looks like. I asked him if he like a specific detail on it and his response to me was “It was white, and it may have had straps, that’s all I remember” so it didn’t really matter. lol

Just because something is unusual, does not make it wrong. I really wanted him to have a surprise, but he also just plain doesn’t care. If your guy cares and the surprise factor isn’t important, go for it! Just be willing to deal with snobby sales people.

I like the idea of the surprise, but if you want him there and he wants to be there I say go for it!

For my first wedding, I took my fiance for the same reasons you are talking about.  I figured he would spend more time looking at the dress than I would, and I wanted a dress he would love.

For my second wedding, my fiancee and I went dress shopping together, because we wanted coordinating dresses.

Just do what you two like, and don’t worry about it.

I wouldn’t/didn’t take my Fiance with me; however, the practice is becoming more and more accepted. It really is a personal choice between you and your Fiance.

I took mine with me. I really value his opinion. He is my best friend. That being said, he doesn’t really love the dress I picked. But I do. At least he doesn’t hate it.   :/  haha!
