    If you are that worried than why not get aprons for everyone, make it seem more like a joke rather than necessity, especially if your trying to go for more of a laughing tone. I personally think its weird. It reminds me of my first communion when my aunt drapped a table cloth around me because she didn’t want me to spill. As a grown women with experience eating at fancy events you should be ok to go without it.
