If you are happy with the way your relationship is then there is no need to rush into planning a wedding.

Personally, I wish someone would have told me that.  SO and I have been blissfully happy for the past 6 years.  Although we had talked about mariage before, we didnt feel the need to rush into it.  We both knew we were gonna get there eventually.  We’re spontaneous people. So we often joked about just waking up one day and eloping, with no planning!  But we come from traditional families, it’s bad enough that we live together without being married, when we started talking about having a child, we felt pressured from both our families to make it “official”.

Though I can’t wait to call SO my husband, I feel like I’m planning a wedding to please our families rather than pleasing ourselves.  I think that if we had waited until it felt right for us, we would have planned something totally different and unique.

My advice, do what’s feels right for both of you.
