I wouldn’t worry about dressing your bridesmaids for the getting-ready part.

This is really only important for the photos. It’s not an actual gift-giving obligation. You need to give your party a gift of some sort, but that doesn’t need to be getting-ready related.

It’s something they’d just wear once and I don’t think it’s necessary (speaking as a 6-time BM).

ETA:  And, your hunch is exactly right – if they don’t use it at an overnight bachelorette or getting ready with you… when would they wear it (the answer: never)

I was just in a wedding and the bride got us all workout pants (from Old Navy I believe) and then ironed on fabric letters to spell our names.  They were really cute and definitely something that I would – and have – worn again.  We didn’t all get ready together, but because it was such a useful piece of clothing (and not, say, an over-sized button down shirt) it was really appreciated.

I was a Bridesmaid or Best Man in one of my dear friend’s wedding and she got us light weight robes with our name embroidered.  I LOOOOVE that stinkin thing!  Its light weight – so I dont get so hot when Im blow drying my hair or right after I get out of a hot shower!
