zstbee84 :  my OB told me there was approximately a 1/5 chance each cycle in a normal healthy couple with no issues who had perfect timing. That put my mind at ease a bit!

zstbee84 :  For what its worth, that is how my periods have always been, and it took us 2 cycles to TTC, currently 16 weeks pregnant. My doctor said as long as they are regular, that is what counts!

zstbee84 :  Did your RE do bloodwork to screen you for clotting disorders, MTHFR mutation etc?

It seems really extreme to me to jump to IVF when you’ve gotten pregnant on your own twice in less than a year. I know it’s heartbreaking to lose the pregnancies (been there) but it doesn’t necessarily mean anything is wrong with either of you.

You could consider asking to be put on lovenox at the first hint of a BFP. It’s not a scientifically proven thing but it has worked for a lot of people that I’ve talked to online.

zstbee84 :  Having PGS tested embryos will not guarantee that you will not miscarry. I know that you want this to be your answer, but IVF and PGS testing is not a guarantee of a successful pregnancy. I would get a second opinion from another doctor as it seems early to jump to IVF, especially if you have conceived spontaneously twice in the last year.

Westwood : sooooo much this! 100000%! We were told pgs w ivf were are only options but at 30k+ with no guarantee of it being succesful we just kept trying naturally and now have our little rainbow. Get second and third opinions! Blood thinners and progesterone did the trick for me.

lifeisbeeutiful :  Out of curiousity, what was your diagnosis that you were told IVF with PGS was your only option but still managed to conceive naturally?

OP – IVF is not a guarantee. We are $60K+ in with no insurance coverage for ivf, 3 retrievals, 1 failed frozen transfer, and still no baby.

goldenbrown :  I have an extra chromosome but mosaic//not in every cell but they ruled that out as a reason for our miscarriages as it’s not uncommon. Tested negative for blood clotting so they decided to put me on progesterone (200mg a day)and baby aspirin daily after getting a bfp. Definetly felt pressured to do IVF w pgd & pgs but we had 0 issues GETTING pregnant , just couldn’t keep a pregnancy so we decided to take the hormone and aspirin and see what happens. It worked.
