I was at the mall yesterday and they had a rather large display of LeVian jewelry with select styles up to 75% off. Since it was such a large discount I decided to check it out. The ones that were 75% off were still $1000 or more and I didnt like any of those enough to spend that much money.
Of course the one I really like (normally ~$1200) wasn’t discounted. I probably would have jumped on that one.
When I got home after I started wondering if their jewelry was really worth the steep price tag or if it is all just brilliant marketing to make people think they are getting something much higher Quality.
Thought? Does anyone have any of their pieces and really love them and think it was worth the money?

I have my own opinion, but I am curious to see what others think!

I’m not a fan of the big name jewelry brands in general. I think you’re paying for the name and the cache of having a piece that is noticeably X brand.
I also like simple pieces, and the brand name stuff tends to very stylistic to the brand’s aesthetic so it usually doesn’t appeal to my personal taste.
LeVian in particular rubs me the wrong way with their “chocolate diamonds,” which are just brown diamonds. They’re using marketing to try and get people to like something that is typically considered undesirable.

“chocolate” diamonds are a clever marketing scheme by jewelry companies to sell the most common form of diamond (brown, usually used in industrial settings) at a premium.

From what I’ve heard, no. If you’re into brown diamonds, I’d check out diamondsbylauren.com.

The name “Chocolate Diamonds” may just be a marketing gimmick, but they truly are beautiful to my eye, especially in Levian’s rose gold. I’ve tried a few of their chocolate diamond pieces on and thought they were very pretty.
I’m sure the prices are inflated, and unless you fell in love with a Levian setting, I’d think that you’d be better off purchasing a certified brown diamond and having a ring custom made. If Levian diamonds are like the majority of preset mall store diamonds, they’re probably of a lower quality and you’re paying more for the brand name cache and the store’s overhead than the quality of materials.

Retail pricing, is retail pricing. I say no. I believe there are many alternatives to colored diamonds out there that don’t exist in the over inflated retail pricing world.
75% off of an item that’s already been grossly inflated is still over priced.

I think fancy brown diamonds are gorgeous but I do think that Levian jewelry is overpriced for what it is. Just like most other mall jewelry store diamonds, I’m sure they are not the best of quality.

No, they are pretty worthless, just a great ad campaign

Any diamond at the chain mall stores is overpriced. And chocolate diamonds are just a gimmick.

Definitely a marketing scheme! One of my coworkers once bragged about how expensive her LeVian RHR was…oh, dear.

If you want a quality colored diamond check out diamonds by lauren and leibish. Levian is more amazing at marketing campaigns than they are at choosing quality diamonds.

I like the levian rose gold, and EFFY. Is that the same company? Are you looking at macys? Keep watching the sales. It can make a huge difference in the price. I like this necklace, but it is pretty expensive.
