Ive been seeing this article on my facebook newsfeed and online everywhere. A contraversy over how makeup can transform women to look nothing like themselves with nothing on their face. What do you bees think? Is makeup a betrayal to what people really look like? Thoughts? Here are some of the photos from the article:

Looks like some Photoshopping found its way in there as well.
betrayal or not, does it matter? who do we owe 100% facial honesty to? and why stop there? Is cutting our hair and nails betraying their true length? Is wearing jeans betraying the true appearance of our bare legs?
my instinct is that these women wearing makeup look like exactly what they are – pretty women wearing a LOT of makeup – and anyone who would actually feel lied to/betrayed to discover they don’t actually look like that without makeup is the same sort of person who would sue McDonalds because his Happy Meal did not include any tangible or measurable happiness inside.

Barbiestylez: I saw this article the other day and was amazed! Amazing what contouring make up etc. can do! I don’t think I’d describe it as a betrayal necessarily though, unless you were ‘fooling’ someone that you were seeking a relationship with into thinking that you had a higher level of ‘attractiveness’ than you really do. But the jig would be up relatively quickly if you stayed the night and woke up next to each other! And most people can tell when someone is wearing a shed load of makeup. I don’t necessarily think that the before images of the women are unnattractive though, most of them still look like very natural, pretty women whereas some of the afters have too much make up on for my tastes.

Those photos look photoshopped

Wow at those pics!
I don’t know, but I’d love to be able to wear makeup! My SIL used to do makeup professionally, and before and after pics looked amazing! She, along with my mom, wear theirs flawlessly. I’ve always been super jealous!
Unfortunately I’m allergic to a lot of it so I can only wear eye makeup & Chapstick.

Who cares, if someone is willing to put that much money, work and time into make-up or hair they deserve to look pretty. I personally can’t imagine having to work that hard on a day to day basis (I don’t do hair or make-up because I’m super lazy lol), but I can respect the skill and dedication.

I think makeup is a personal choice and I can’t stand when people try to chastize women for wearing it. If it’s not hurting anyone else, then it shouldn’t be any one else’s issue. And I agree with PP, if someone seriously can’t tell that the women in those photos are wearing an amazing amount of makeup, then they deserve to be betrayed.

Fiance and I have a bit of a joke that women are sort of like scratch tickets. Don’t know if you’ve got a winner until you get her home and peel off the layers 🙂

ohnatto: Here here!
Barbiestylez: Of course it isn’t! I will wear or not wear makeup however I see fit! For the record, I think makeup is really a lot of fun. How cool! You can make your eyes look bigger.
Everyone has their preferences of course, mine being kinda in between the pics shown here, but the only opinion that truly matters is that of the woman wearing the makeup.

Doesn’t bother me at all. If people want to put in the effort to look pretty, more power to them. If you’re confident with nothing, that’s good too. I don’t think anyone is going to be fooled into thinking these girls are all natural.

I don’t think it’s a betrayal. If people want to spend the time and money to do their make up like that that’s up to them. I don’t really care what someone looks like underneath their make up.

Barbiestylez: Its so amazing what make-up can do! I wear a lot of make-up on a day to day basis – not to the extent that it makes me look like a different person but a lot of those pics are quite clearly photoshopped so no matter how good your make-up is you’re never going to look quite like that in person!
This sort of thing doesn’t bother me, it’s obvious a lot of work has gone in to it, I don’t think anyone assumes these people roll out of bed looking like that in the morning!
Whether you love make-up or never wear it, I don’t think it matters! To each their own. I wear make-up because it makes me feel more polished and put together, not because people scream in horror when they see me without it lol I think that’s the case for most women.

Barbiestylez: Gosh, I wouldn’t want to make people think I am prettier than I really am! It’s aweful that anyone would risk disappointing a superficial person! 😉
I doubt these pictures represent every day routines and I am sure everyone can tell that they are wearing tons of makeup!

Photoshopping– YES! Thats exactly what I was thinking! That being said, could someone come to my house and make me look pretty every morning? That’d be great!

I actually wish I knew how to do that sort of makeup! I’m not the best at makeup and usually look like a more polished version of myself, which I’ll readily admit I’m not always happy with lol.
