I have been looking into upgrading my wedding band, I currently have a CZ wedding band and engagement ring but it’s a sterling silver and I have sensitive skin so it’s making me break out 🙁 I’ve been watching JTTV and I’ve been watching the moissanite rings and I’m wondering do they really sparkle like they sparkle on TV do they hold the sparkles. I love my original set but I want to be able to wear it all the time, how are there bands I know summer 14 karat gold but some are a different kind of metal and I’m not sure how those would react with my skin. So if you have any moissanite rings show them off, I’m looking at the 3 to 5 carat size rings and I’m just not sure if it would look good and hopefully would not make me break out.

My 3.10 ctw moissy is from JTV & I’m very happy with it. The stone is quite clear, I’m not seeing any yellow. I do wear it everyday. It’s set in rose gold over sterling silver, I’m prepared to replace the setting someday if it turns, I’ll have it set in rose or white gold. It came with a lifetime warranty from Charles & Colvard as well as JTV’s 30 day return policy, so if the stone looked yellow, I would have sent it back.
It does have a lot of sparkle. I’ll post a pic from the other computer.

I think it depends on exactly what you are looking for. I have a 9mm (2.5-3 ct, size 10 finger) stone and I adore it. It sparkles like craaaaazzzzzzy and is bright white 95% of the time. However, even the Forever Brilliant shows color sometimes, and the bigger the stone the more color will show. The new Forever One is supposed to be colorless though, so it may be worth a try if you are set on a colorless stone!
Mine is set in rose gold, and I highly recommend a type of gold for your band. I’ve heard elsewhere on the Bee that yellow and rose gold are the best options since white gold is likely to contain nickel which is a surprisingly common allergy and probably the issue you’re having with your current band. Gold is supposed to be hypoallergenic and the higher the karat, the better for your allergies. Most people won’t have issues with 14k gold, but I’m not sure for you since you may be more sensitive than others.

There are many moissanite fans here. Yes, it is as good as they say. JTV.com has some of the best prices for moissanite, but make sure the item has a video, and make sure its moissanite “fire”. Moissanite.com as well as Moissaniteco.com both have sale sections for those on a budget as well! although the first is substantially cheaper than the second and then of course there is betterthandiamond for amora moissanite [which is a higher grade of white]. Forever brilliant are the latest and whitest moissanites to come on the market, while the forever brilliant are just under that color wise. ALL sparkle like crazy though.

I got mine from Schubach, and she is barely pink, so i was worried the color would affect sparkle. Boy was I silly to worry. my ring shines even in dull lighting. And it is so resilient. For a while I was worried that my stone would scratch or break because I have been told all my life that only diamonds are forever, but my goodness she is tough and she is stunning

Be careful with JTV settings. If tou are allergic to sipver, you might be better off getting a ring from Etsy or direct from MoCo. Most of JTV’s rings are set in platineve. It’s platinum coated silver.

I really don’t get along with the splintery cut and moody color of moissanite. There is a trade off for all that sparkle in sunlight because in flat light, most of the stones I’ve seen look terrible. I sent back five or six for really bad cuts before I found an okay one and even that one, I didn’t like.
So it’s not for everybody, and that’s fine.

I really enjoy watching my moissies out dance my diamonds. Are they as good as they say? Sure, depending upon what is said. I’d prefer to handpick a gemstone of the size you want due to myriad factors involved with a stone.
Just my $0.02.

An Amora gem will look much more like a diamond. Even with enhanced moissy, the color and cut are dead giveaways – at least to me.

I wouldn’t purchase a moissanite through JTV. Remember you get what you pay for. So for moissanite, I highly recommend going through moissaniteco.com or Schubach’s. Like the previous poster said, if your wanting a stone that looks more diamond like, then amora gem ultra is a much better option. I’m also not a fan of the splintery facets in moissanite.

Just took this picture now while finishing breakfast haha.
This is my 1 carat forever one moissanite from moissaniteco. I’m still in awe over how beautiful this stone is. Pictures never look as good as the real thing.

I bought one of the cheap ones on ebay to see what I thought of it. I didn’t care for it. It has a swampy color that I don’t like, and it doesn’t sparkle as much as my diamond. If I was going to buy one, I’d get an Amora Gem or Forever One, but I think they are very over priced.
If you are looking for a diamond substitute, also check out strontium titanate (sparkles much more than diamonds, but very soft, so you will have to replace it. Very cheap) and white zircon (also soft, but very cheap. naturally occuring).

Yes – I’ve had my 0.6ct moissy engagement ring for 5 years and it still looks perfect. I recently bought a pair of moissy 0.5 tcw stud earrings and they look great too. It may be because all of my moissanites are small, but they are all unenhanced and very white. Very sparkly too, and no scratches even though I wear the ring all the time.
