I think that if you buy a moissanite with the expectation that it will look identical to a diamond, you’ll be disappointed. That being said, many many women love the look of their moissanites (myself included) but like it because of its individual optical qualities.

I would check out the forums on betterthandiamond.com, they more than likely have many comparison pictures.

I haven’t noticed any difference with my moissanite.

Also, depending on your lifestyle, the large size might make it less “believable” if you’re trying to pass it off as a diamond. At least in my circles, 2 carats would be impossible to own without going massively into debt, so I think most people would be more skeptical. However, if that’s not the case in your circles, I woudln’t think people would consider otherwise.

They’re pretty close. Here is a good video that demonstrates it:

I have a round moissy, 1.5ct enhanced (not Amora) and not one person has ever questioned it in the year I have had it.

If you’re well off, and depending on your area, I people may or may not believe you actually have a 2ct diamond.

@DeathByDesign:  Is your ring moissanite? I am in love with it, and normally I am not a fan of yellow gold, it is just beatiful!!

@lollypop:  It’s not my video, but I think the left one is moissy. It sparkles just a bit more.

@lollypop:  All the more reason then! I am all for moissanite, but I did not want a large stone, and SO and I were able to find an antique that was budget-friendly. I don’t think just because you have X to spend means you should have to, that’s just smart. Not sure my SO would be supportive of getting a moissy, but that’s just a lack of education there!  I think once you see it in person you will know right away if it’s right for you!
